Course Description: This course is designed for employees to gain working knowledge of air
monitoring equipment which includes but not limited to: detecting of potentially hazardous
conditions, acceptable ceiling concentrations, time weighted averages, toxics, lower explosion
limits, exposures limits, safety alarms and calibrations. Participants will learn how to use a
multi-gas monitor to check confined space for the minimum acceptable air quality standards prior
to confined space entry. They will also learn how to check for: oxygen (deficiency or enrichment),
present of combustible gases or vapors that may lead too fire or explosion, and for toxic
atmospheric hazards that could present health and safety hazards.

Method of instruction: Hands-on/Power Point Presentation, Supplemented with Audio/Visual Aids.
