Course Title: Hand and Power Tools Safety

Hand and power tools are used daily in business and industries across our nation. They
make our work much easier and allow us to become more efficient. However, we need to
be aware of the hazards that these tools presents.
Course Description: This program cover how accidents can be significantly reduced by
applying safety rules, and analyzes what hazards are associated with certain types of
tools employees used. Often times employees fail to see the hazards these tools present.
The course will address the importance of: safe handling of hand and power tools,
personal protective equipment, and the care and maintenance of these tools. Applicable
OSHA Standards (1926, Subpart I) will be covered thoroughly. Visuals, reference, materials,
handouts and “hands-on” demonstration will be utilized in the course.
Method of instruction: Power Point Presentation, supplemented by: Audio/Visual Aids.
