Course Title: Lock-out/Tag-out Hazardous Energy Control

Course Description: This program is created specially to assist organizations in
complying with the employee training requirements of OSHA’s“ Lockout Tagout” Standard
for Authorized, Affected and other Employees, who have the potential to be injured by the
release of hazardous energy source while per- forming their jobs. This training must be
conducted for employees who fall under this standard. Training must also be provided
when an annual inspection reveals a: deficiency, a change in Lockout/Tagout procedures,
a new hazard is introduced into the work area or the employer has reasons to believe the
pro- gram is not being followed.
This program is mandatory for all personnel working in or around: electrical, mechanical,
pneumatic, hydraulic, chemical or any other hazardous energy source. The course will
focus on how to prevent accidents and injuries caused by accidental release of energy
during servicing, maintaining and/or repairing equipment and machinery. Locks, tags and
locking devices and other essentials will also be discussed. OSHA requires that employers
provide training for those employees who are affected by these procedures.
Method of instruction: Power Point Presentation, supplemented by: Audio/Visual Aids.
